Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about checking a vehicle's history by VIN. Can't find your answer? Email us at iassistance@foxmail.com.

What is a VIN and where do I find it?

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17-character code assigned to every vehicle. You can find it on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the driver's side door jamb, or on your vehicle registration and insurance documents.

What does the vehicle history report include?

Our report covers accident and damage records, title status (clean, salvage, rebuilt), odometer readings and rollback checks, ownership history, and available service records — compiled from third-party data sources.

How much does a report cost?

A single vehicle history report costs $4.99. You can check and identify the vehicle for free before paying — you only pay when you decide to get the full report.

How long does it take to receive my report?

Reports are generated and delivered to your email typically within a few minutes after payment. If you don't see it within 30 minutes, please check your spam or junk folder.

How is my report delivered?

The report is sent as a PDF attachment to the email address you provide at checkout. A backup download link is also included in the email.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe over an SSL/TLS encrypted connection. We never store your credit card details on our servers.

Can I get a refund?

Because reports are generated and delivered instantly, we generally do not offer refunds once a report has been delivered. However, refunds may be issued for duplicate charges, non-delivery, or system errors. See our Refund Policy for details.

Which vehicles are supported?

We support most cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles with a standard 17-character VIN registered in the United States.

Why can't my VIN be found?

Double-check each character — the first character is usually a number, not the letter S, and VINs never contain the letters I, O, or Q. If it still can't be found, the VIN may be entered incorrectly or not present in our data sources.

How do I check if a used car was in an accident?

Enter the car's 17-character VIN to run a vehicle history report. The report shows reported accidents, damage records, and airbag deployments where available. We recommend combining the report with an in-person inspection by a trusted mechanic.

Can I check a car's history for free?

You can identify the vehicle (year, make, model) for free by entering the VIN — no payment required. The full history report with accident, title, and ownership details is available for $4.99.

How do I check a car's title status?

A vehicle history report shows the reported title status, such as clean, salvage, rebuilt, or flood. This helps you avoid vehicles that were previously declared a total loss. Just enter the VIN to check.

What does a salvage or rebuilt title mean?

A salvage title means an insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss, usually after a serious accident, theft, or flood. A rebuilt title means a salvage vehicle was repaired and passed inspection. Both can significantly affect a car's value and safety.

Do you offer reports for motorcycles and trucks?

Yes. We support most cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles that have a standard 17-character VIN registered in the United States.

Can I check odometer rollback or mileage fraud?

Yes. The report includes reported odometer readings over time, which can reveal inconsistencies that may indicate mileage rollback or fraud.
